smile makeover
Thinking about a smile makeover? Give yourself time to do it right.
By now we’ve all seen TV makeover shows where people with crooked or stained teeth get a stunning new smile overnight. We think it’s great that more and more people are thinking about the importance of a healthy-looking smile, because we’ve seen so many examples of patients who found new self-confidence and success after coming to us for aesthetic dentistry. In addition to paying attention to oral hygiene and disease prevention, our patients strive for the best possible appearance cosmetic dentistry can provide.
But don’t be fooled by the overnight changes that appear to happen on TV. Aesthetic dentistry at our office takes a little longer, for several reasons. Let’s say we decide together that you’d like to consider dental veneers to fill in gaps in your teeth or give a uniform bright white smile. We follow a deliberate and accurate process that guarantees you’ll get the smile you want.
- Before we even start, we’ll thoroughly review your oral health to make sure you’re a good candidate for cosmetic changes. We’ll make sure there are no joint problems in your mouth, as well as making sure your teeth and gums are as healthy as possible. After all, if we don’t correct underlying problems, your teeth will revert to the state they were in before, no matter what we do to them.
- We’ll whiten your teeth first so that the final products look as good as possible.
- We’ll help you figure out exactly what kind of smile you want. Many of our clients bring in pictures or we just talk about the kind of smile they’ve always dreamed of having. We even have a “Smile Book” showing actual photos of the same woman with different types of veneers.
- We want to give you a chance to “test drive” your new look. You’ll get temporary veneers so that we can work with you for several weeks to make sure your new teeth don’t affect your speech and that they are exactly the way you want them to look.
